Two out-of-action jets leave John Key fuming - Prime Minister John Key says it is “unacceptable” that both the Air Force’s Boeing 757 passenger jets are being repaired in Alabama when they should be evacuating New Zealanders from Bangkok. One of the aircraft is back in Alabama… [NZ Herald Politics]
Phil Goff is burned by his own words.
When the 757 returned in August, Labour leader Phil Goff, who was then defence minister, said it would greatly enhance the Air Force’s ability “to evacuate New Zealand citizens should the need arise”.
Well Phil, the need arose and it was your fricken government that sent these planes for reconditioning. STFU wanker, you FAIL.
John Armstrong: Key did right thing, just a few steps late
John Armstrong: Key did right thing, just a few steps late - In his handling of the first “crisis” to confront him as Prime Minister, John Key has been taught a few instructive lessons about not just keeping in step with public opinion, but the need to stay ahead of it. In sending an Air… [NZ Herald Politics]
John Armstrong has his pinko coloured spectacles on again this morning in berating John Key for doing too little, too late about the losers stuck in Bangkok.
Now a couple of points here. Phil Goff would have known the 757’s were broken, he was the Defence Minister just 4 weeks ago and would have been informed that the planes were broken and in the US. Quite how the NZ government was supposed to deploy them to help is beyond me. Phil Goff also thinks a valid contigency plan is to sponge off your mates by asking Australia for help.
Quite apart from all that I fail to see why people are sitting on their chuff in Bangkok waiting for the New Zealand government to save their sorry asses.
I had a couple of mates stuck in Thailand, they both got themelves home with no help either asked for or received from the government. One took the bus to Phuket and flew to Singapore from there and the other took a train to Malayasia and flew home from there. A bit of lateral thinking and Kiwi can do spirit.
It seems to me that 9 years of Labour have knobbled the Kiwi Spirit, essentially emasculating us from thinking and doing for ourselves, instead waiting for the munificence of the the government to save us.
I’m not a fan of chainsaws as anti-zombie weapons, despite their use by the great Ash. But this variant of the chainsaw intrigues me. It’s a small chainsaw mounted on a semi-automatic rifle as a bayonet. It would make the rifle absurdly heavy, but it would also provide some safety in the event that a zombie gets within four or five feet — when the rifle would become ineffective.
Mayor's domain set to increase
The self-appointed Mayor of Newmarket is set to get a massive increase in his constituency.
The Newmarket Business Association ran a poll of local businesses and property owners in the areas just outside of the current boundaries came back with a 91.4% acceptance to be included in Newmarket’s zone.
The self-appointed Mayor must be very pleased with this result and with the increase in new constituents that will result.
It is a testament to the value that locals have for the business association and Mayor Brewer’s management that they would vote by a landslide for this boundary extension and the resulting extension of the Mayor’s already impressive ego.
Kyoto Committments next Labour Landmine?
After the news today that Michael Cullen lied to the nation, against the law, in the PREFU about ACC funding, I wondered about how many other Labour manufactured fiscal landmines are out there.
A little birdy whispered in my ear that the most likely next landmine that will be announced was the missing Kyoto liability from PREFU, another lie and another big dent in the government accounts.
How much?
Well, yet to be confirmed, but I have heard $500 million. That’s right another half a billy lie left by the lying pricks of Labour.
Helen Clark fought her election on trust and now we are seeing where that trust has got us. Her government lied like a flatfish when it came to the accounts, they have colluded with top civil servants to break the law.
Labour must never, ever be trusted again with the treasury benches, ever.
The Science is settled and there is consensus
Much has been said about National and Act’s decision to review the flawed and nonsensical Emmissions Trading Scheme. Phrases like the “science is settled” and “most scientists agree” get bandied about ad nauseum. Let’s be clear, There is no consensus.
Of course both of those statements are fallacious in the extreme and to even utter them shows the intellectual depth of a carpark puddle. Nevertheless the warmists and other co-religionists of the Great Climate Change religion all say that the 4000 scientists of the IPCC must be believed.
Now lets look at the pushers of the new religion and their qualifications;
Top 70 Warmists who Believe in the Manmade CO2 Doomsday.

The Cato Institute has published a series of videos about Tax Havens and the myths about them. They want these videos spread far and wide and so in the interests of making New Zleand into a tax haven I re-post the details here for your viewing pleasure.
Politicians from high-tax nations (including New Zealand under Clark) routinely smear tax havens as part of their efforts to undermine tax competition. Using academic research and data from international organizations, this video shows that the most common attacks made against low-tax jurisdictions are empty demagoguery.
Labour have again spiked the books, knowingly and deliberately for an incoming government. Check out this press release from John Key, issued just minutes ago. Michael Cullen should be arrested for this.
The previous Labour government underfunded ACC to the tune of about $1 billion over the next three years, Prime Minister John Key has revealed.
“This is a significant and serious hole in the Government accounts, so today I am signalling the Government’s intention to conduct a Ministerial Inquiry to determine how this happened, and why the information was not included in the pre-election opening of the books.”
Mr Key says the terms for the Ministerial Inquiry will be firmed up over the coming days.
“But my top priority is to offer an assurance to those who rely on ACC that their services will be maintained, despite warnings that the Non-Earners Account will run out of money by March.
The National-led Government has been told by officials that ACC is seeking $297 million in extra funding for the Non Earners’ Account in the 2007/08 year and a similar increase for out years.
“The previous Government knew of the seriousness of the situation, but did not disclose this information prior to the election.
“Officials have told the Government that they became aware of the serious funding issues in the Non-Earner account as early as May, and previous Ministers were also made aware of the problem. However, the funding shortfall was not mentioned in the pre-election opening of the books.
“There are serious questions to be answered about this very large ticking time-bomb. In light of this, I have determined that a Ministerial Inquiry needs to run alongside any internal ACC review.”
Mr Key says the Government signalled in the election campaign that ACC would be subject to a full review, so the shape of the accounts can be properly and publicly assessed.
The National Government was elected on a platform that includes, a full stock-take of the various components of the ACC scheme, an evaluation of progress to full funding, identifying areas of cross-subsidy or cost-shifting and underfunding of newly-legislated entitlements.
The Government has sought further information from ACC, and expects to have another paper in front of Cabinet before Christmas.
National supports a comprehensive, 24/7, no-fault accident insurance scheme that delivers certainty of coverage for all New Zealanders.
Ends
Labour simply can’t be trusted. They broke the law and they lied about the finances of the government. They must never again be trusted with the Treasury benches.
Chauvel's carbon footprint set to expand massively
Charles Chauvel is a numpty twat. Not only does he believe in “climate change” but he is such a believer he intends making several long haul flights increasing his already prodigious carbon footprint even further.
This is also an opportunity for me to show important stakeholders that many New Zealanders are committed to an economically and environmentally sustainable future, despite the actions of the National government.
Ok so let’s get this straight, not only is he going to substantially increase his carbon footprint but he is also going to undermine our foreign policy by attempting to run a counter foreign policy.
What we have here is a mid-ranked MP going to be “briefed by senior EU officials” and basically undermine our exporters.
Imagine if say, Lindsay Tisch, had flown to Washington in 2003 and said he was going to be briefed by “senior State department officials” and put out a presser that said “This is also an opportunity for me to show important stakeholders that many New Zealanders are committed to a strong relationship with America in the future, despite the actions of the Labour government.”
National has been sworn in for less than trwo weeks and already the fool is blaming them for Britain’s tax on long haul flights, investors not investing in forestry and “confusing” people for not having Labour’s sustainablility policy.
Someone should inform the prissy little fag that his party was tossed from power, that not one single law has been passed yet by the new government so any reaction is due to the terrible record Helen Clark’s government had on emissions and not his imaginery reasons.
